Laundering Instructions
General Laundering
Kevlar/Aramid
- Use commerical laundry soap/detergent
- DO NOT BLEACH - oxygen bleach may be used as a replacement
- Use 170°F/75°C water to wash for 20 minutes
- Rinse - 1 time in hot water, 1 time in cold water
- Tumble dry for up to 35 minutes at 155°F/70°C
Kevlar can also be effectively dry-cleaned
Nylon/Cotton/Polyester
- Wash in 160° F (71º C) water with regular detergent
- Tumble dry with medium heat
- May be bleached with oxygenated bleach as necessary
Dipped Gloves
- Wash for 10 minutes in warm water, do not exceed 140° F (60º C)
- Rinse in 100° F (38º C)
- Use high speed spin extraction for best results
- Drip dry or tumble dry. Do not exceed 49ºC (120ºF) or tumble dry longer than 10 minutes
Leather Gloves
Leather gloves should be dry cleaned, as commercial soaps/detergents remove the natural oils that keep gloves soft and flexible
Tuffalene Laundering
Standard Laundering Instructions
- Brush large particles from glove
- Rinse in cold water
- Use commercial laundry soap or detergent - May be bleached with a solution of 5.25% sodium hypochlorite, (household bleach) diluted to 1:10 as a sanitizer & to help restore whiteness.
- Wash for 10 minutes in warm water, do not exceed 140° F (60º C)
- Rinse in 100° F (38º C)
- Use high speed spin extraction for best results
- Drip dry or tumble dry. Do not exceed 49ºC (120ºF) or tumble dry longer than 10 minutes
Special Instructions
When laundering gloves that have especially heavy dirt or grease, throw in several pieces of heavy canvas in the second wash cycle. The agitation of the heavy canvas against the gloves will help to loosen and remove the deepest dirt.
